Hi Reader!

So remember last week when I said I was sick with something that wasn't the dreaded 'c' word - covid? Apparently it did turn out to be covid after all 😩. I was 'novid' for so long (no covid) and now I've gotten it for the first time. I tested negative for a long time before I finally got a positive result from the doctor, but now I'm on meds and slowly starting to feel better. So, today I'm dealing with covid, a chronic illness flareup, and a migraine, but I know healthier days are on the horizon.

In happier news, I've got so much to share with you, including new book covers, a ton of freebies, and don't forget to pre-order Crowned (releasing in October)!

📖 new discreet Royals covers!

The Royals series has a new look! Discreet covers will slowly be updating across all the various sites and my store over the next several weeks. I love these so much!

I'm also updating the interior files too, so if you buy after the update you'll get a copy of the Royal family tree and some other formatting updates. I first published these books 9 years ago (!) and things like text bubbles in books and extras like the family tree weren't an easy thing to add. Now that they are, they'll be included.

If you've already purchased from a store like Amazon, sometimes you can delete the book and re-download and see the updates, but it's hit or miss. You can always download the family tree for free from my website (this is getting a new look too - it will be updated with the new covers and include book 12 once the cover is revealed). All the books will have the main family tree, and Royally Ever After (book 7), will also feature the Santoro & Ruffin trees (since that's the first book we meet the extended families).

I'll let everyone know once the update is completed so you can check your existing ebooks. If you've already got a print version, and would like something like a vellum insert of the family tree, hit reply and let me know. I don't have these created or anything, but if there's enough interest, I will look into it.

Covers are such a hot topic in romancelandia. As an author, changing the cover can make a big difference in sales and attracting new readers to our books. I've been testing different covers for months now - men in suits, sexier covers, discreet covers, etc. - and the discreet covers have done the best for me so far.

But I'm curious - would you prefer having a choice of covers to buy from, whether in ebook or print form?

This would be hard to do on Amazon, for example, but it is something I could more easily integrate into my store. Answer the poll below and let me know! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

tbh, lately I've mostly watched Drag Race or videos of Trixie Mattel and Katya reviewing Netflix shows on YouTube, so I'll share some things that made me feel better while sick:

😤 Vick's Sinus Steam Inhaler. This was one of the only things that paused my coughing before I got on covid meds. It's a bit bulky and awkward to use, and it doesn't hold much water, but it's lightweight and it worked for me.

🥛 Liquid IV. I know, I know, there's lots of sugar/caffeine/etc. in these but the lemon lime flavor really helped me stay hydrated, and it's one of the only flavors I could stand drinking. My sense of smell has gone (hopefully only temporarily) and my sense of taste is very sensitive right now.

🥛 Pedialyte. The other thing that kept me hydrated. I only like the unflavored version though, which is hard to find in stores, so I always buy online and keep it stocked in case I get sick (or get food poisoning).

💊 Getting meds for free. My insurance wouldn't cover the full cost of Paxlovid (covid meds in the US, not sure if it's the same name everywhere). It was going to cost $320+! But thankfully my pharmacist knew of a program to get the meds for free - just search "Paxlovid copay assistance". You'll fill out a form (took me 5 seconds in line at the pharmacy) and you'll get a 'copay card' that you show to the pharmacist. This program ends in December (as of now) but hopefully it will help someone else who may need it this year.
